This season is said to delight book and first season fans alike. After all, Neil Gaiman has plans for at least five seasons of the TV adaptation. American Gods have officially finished shooting and are scheduled premiere on Sunday, March 10th, 2019 at 8 p.m. ET on Starz and will be available the same day on the Starz App.
This announcement could come sooner, will all of the issues the season has had during product with the exit of some much-loved cast members and showrunners. However, Starz has said it would love to move past all of the “behind the scenes drama”.
The official synopsis for the season states
“In Season Two, the battle between Old Gods and New Gods continues to brew as we join Mr. Wednesday just a few short hours after his declaration of war and the epic showdown that ensued at Easter’s party.
“While Mr. World (Crispin Glover, Alice In Wonderland) plans revenge for Wednesday’s attack, Mr. Wednesday continues his quest to pitch the case for war to the Old Gods with Shadow, Laura (Emily Browning, Sucker Punch) and Mad Sweeney (Pablo Schreiber, Orange is the New Black) in tow.
The cast also joined in on the hype tweeting out their excitement for the resurrection of the show which you can check out here. As well as a look at the new art for season two.
