New showrunner announced for American Gods.

It’s been two months since the sad new of American Gods creators Bryan Fuller and Michael Green exiting the series, but at last Starz has finally announced who will be replacing the two. Star Trek; discovery co executive producer Jesse Alexander has been named as the newest addition to the team as the new show runner.

After rumours that Fuller and Green were denied a bigger budget for the second season they decided to leave, leaving us the audience, on our toes about what that might mean for our beloved series.

However the exact reason why Fuller and Green left is up for debate currently with some even stating that Gaiman butted heads too often with Fuller and Green.

Then the news of Easter and Media leaving the series left us really wondering what could possibly save the series. After much anticipation the news of Jesse Alexander becoming the showrunner is definitely in our favour. Alexander has worked on series such as Hannibal, Heroes as well as ABC’S Lost and Alias. Alexander will also be working along side Gaiman, which means the two creative minds will make magic.

Gaiman expressed his excitement about working with alexander in his offical statement about Alexander coming on board for season two;
“I’m thrilled that Jesse is [the] showrunner. He loves and understands the book, he loves and understands the TV series and he’s dedicated to making future seasons of American Gods as good and as beautiful and as unique as they can be. Shadow’s journey is going to take him, and Mr. Wednesday, and the New Gods and the Old, to some very strange places. I’m glad that we, and the cast and crew, will have Jesse shepherding us on the way.”

So have no fear fellow American Gods fans, slowly but surely our prayers are being answered. Let us know what you think about this news —How do you feel about Jesse Alexander coming onboard as the showrunner and do you think the series will be just as good if not better?  To stay updated with all things American Gods you can subscribe to our mailing list and get notified when new articles come out.
